The recruitment and selection process is a dynamic, complex and an important part of human resource management in organizations. The most critical part is, those in charge of selecting the successful applicant ought to have sufficient data whereupon to base their choices. (Okusanya, A.O.; Oseji, A.S 2012). In this competitive job market, applicants fake themselves to be hired. Therefore, building recruitment strategies to increase the predictability of the attracting right applicant.
Definition of Recruitment
- Recruitment is the process of attracting prospective employees and stimulating them to apply for a job in an organization.
- Recruitment is the process of hiring the right kinds of candidates for the right job.
Methods of Recruitment
There are various methods of recruitment but for simplicity, they have been categorized under two broad headings.
Internal Recruitment
According to Myrna L. Gusdorf, the recruitment process starts with the most common method which is job posting. The traditional method to announce a job opening was to post notice of the job on the HR bulletin board whereas organizations now mostly post jobs electronically through organization-wide intranets or send e-mails to all employees about the job vacancy. Publishing employment newsletters and distributing the announcement flyers are also a way of doing job posting. Employee Referrals are also a process to obtain candidates for Internal recruitment.

recruitment is the evaluation of open pool of job candidates, other than
existing staff, to check whether there are any enough talented or able to fill
requirements and perform existing employment opportunities. (Reddy.C,
2013)

Definition of Selection
Selection is the process of putting right men on right job. It is a procedure of matching Organizational requirements with the skills and qualifications of people.

Conclusion
For an organization its important to have the right person in the right place. Taking in the right person will benefit the organization where as, the wrong person is a burden. A single wrong new recruit could break the team spirit, drop in the performance of other employees and ultimately it could effect the organization objective. Therefore, its mandatory for an organization to have a well developed recruitment and selection process to ensure right talent is hired.
